Do you know if you are moving in a positive direction, or do you frequently feel lost or stuck in life?
Now, while there are infinite ways to live this life, there are always signs that will indicate we are moving in a positive direction. Each of us has a different path, but a positive path will always be recognizable by the signs below.
7 Signs You’re Moving in a Positive Direction:
- You wake up in the morning typically eager for what the day will bring.
- Ordinarily, you would describe yourself as happy, content or joyful.
- With regularity, you engage in hobbies, activities or work that inspires you and is highly interesting to you.
- You feel relatively healthy and physically vibrant.
- It’s easy for you to brush off life’s little annoyances.
- You are hopeful about what the future will bring.
- Though you know where you want to go, you acknowledge your life is good exactly as it is.
If you are usually exhibiting most of the signs above, keep doing what you are doing! You can trust that you are moving in a life direction that will continue to bring you life satisfaction. You’re on the right path for you.
However, if you are not exhibiting most of these signs, that’s ok! All it means is that you have an opportunity right here, and right now, to pick another direction that will take you to a place of greater fulfillment.
If most of these signs do not typically describe you take inventory of your life: Are there things you are doing regularly that bring you down? By contrast, are there things you want to be doing that you’ve been putting off?
Finding happiness is a lot easier than we are often taught. It isn’t some elusive, mysterious state available only to the select few. Rather, we all know what makes us joyful, happy and excited in life!
We all know what makes us feel good, and we all know what makes us feel bad. It is simply our choice to act on our happiness that brings us into a happy state. Moving in a positive direction is all about choosing what makes you happy as much as you can, and letting go of actions and behaviors that bring about sadness, anxiety or anger.
When we aren’t aware of the simplicity of our happiness, sometimes we get stuck. Over time, we pick up habits and behaviors that don’t make us happy and they become routine. In time, we become conditioned to choose our unhappiness over our happiness. When this happens, life feels rather uninspired!
So, if you aren’t feeling particularly happy about where you are, ask yourself: what could I do today to be happier?
Then, go do that-whatever it is. Right now, without hesitation. Turn on that song you like, pick up that book you’ve been wanting to read or take those classes you’ve always wanted to take.
To be happy, we simply must make the choice to be happy. Do the things you enjoy, take the chances that inspire you and drop the habits and behaviors that make you feel down and dark.
Finding fulfillment in life, at the end of the day, is a very simple process. It’s just one foot in front of the other moment-by-moment, day-by-day. All that matters is that the foot you’re putting down right now is toward something that brings you greater joy.
