Don’t Worry Be Happy Now

Let’s explore the dictionary definition of ‘happy’:

  • feeling or showing pleasure
  • contentment
  • joy
  • carefree
  • blessed
  • fortunate

You get the picture, right? So why is it most of us feel that happiness is something to be attained?

In my professional (‘School of Hard Knocks‘ education — certificate somewhere in file 13) opinion, we don’t love ourselves enough.

Everything I have ever researched and carried out — on my journey of spiritually awakening — always points back to the fact that most of the human population have serious deficiencies in dignity (for self and others), respect (for self and others), compassion (for self and others) and — the big one *drum roll, please* — love (for self and others).

(For Self and Others)

Why have I annoyingly written (for self and others) so many times? Because everything reverts back to self first and then it affects ‘others’. You are a mirror of your experience. The old adage ‘know thyself’ is one of the most significant quotes to truly embody.

Statistically, according to a ‘self help’ graph recently compiled, people are the least interested in reading about ‘self love’. Wealth and how to make money are on the top of the charts. Thing is, IMHO, you need self love to master any attribute on the physical plane.

To become familiar with yourself is a step onto a path that will broaden the scope of your personal universe (cause, let’s face it, we’re all living in our own universe). You deserve your own love. If you don’t take care of yourself and learn to love every divine nook and cranny of yourself, you can never fully or unconditionally love another — did you know that?

If your cup ain’t full, you’re always going to be a dry well (in pursuit of the elusive type of ‘happy’). If you’re cup proverbially spilleth over — you’re going to have oodles of love to share (read article above on how to crack this egg).

When you’re a cup that’s literally overflowing with love, you’re going to attract a lot of love into your life…ergo happiness.
