{"id":5023,"date":"2018-03-03T06:00:22","date_gmt":"2018-03-03T14:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.youwealthrevolution.com\/blog\/?p=5023"},"modified":"2018-02-28T05:18:55","modified_gmt":"2018-02-28T13:18:55","slug":"ayurveda-powerful-mind-body-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.youwealthrevolution.com\/blog\/ayurveda-powerful-mind-body-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Ayurveda Is One Of The World\u2019s Most Powerful Mind-Body Health Systems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five thousand years ago, the \u201csages of India\u201d<span id=\"easy-footnote-1\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1\" data-hasqtip=\"0\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span>\u00a0developed the art of Ayurveda and this system of natural healing, with\u00a0its origins in the Vedic culture, \u201ccontinues to be one of the world\u2019s most sophisticated and powerful mind-body health systems\u201d in use today.<span id=\"easy-footnote-1\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1\" data-hasqtip=\"1\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span>\u00a0But it has endured because it is more than just a system for treating illness. Rather, Ayurveda is a science of life (<em>Ayur<\/em>\u00a0= life,\u00a0<em>Veda<\/em>\u00a0= science or knowledge) and it helps people stay vibrant and healthy so they can best enjoy the life they\u2019ve been given.<\/p>\n<p>In the last couple of years, Ayurveda has seen a resurgence in interest, both in India and around the world. However, many people still know very little about it so we thought we\u2019d explain a bit more about this ancient form of medicine.<\/p>\n<p>Ayurveda recognizes that human beings are part of nature and \u201cdescribes three fundamental energies that govern our inner and outer environments: movement, transformation, and structure.\u201d<span id=\"easy-footnote-2\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-2\" data-hasqtip=\"2\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span>These are known in Sanskrit as Vata (Wind), Pitta (Fire), and Kapha (Earth) and it is these \u201cprimary forces\u201d<span id=\"easy-footnote-3\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-3\" data-hasqtip=\"3\"><sup>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span>\u00a0that are responsible for the characteristics of our mind and body.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dr. Deepak Chopra,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two main guiding principles of Ayurveda are 1) the mind and the body are inextricably connected, and 2) nothing has more power to heal and transform the body than the mind.<\/p>\n<p>Freedom from illness depends upon expanding our own awareness, bringing it into balance, and then extending that balance to the body. This process isn\u2019t as complicated as it may sound. For example, when you meditate you effortlessly enter a state of expanded awareness and inner quiet that refreshes the mind and restores balance.<\/p>\n<p>Since the mind and body are inseparable, the body is naturally balanced through the practice of meditation. In the state of restful awareness created through meditation, your heart rate and breath slow, your body decreases the production of \u201cstress\u201d hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline, and you increase the production of neurotransmitters that enhance wellbeing, including serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, and endorphins.\u201d<span id=\"easy-footnote-1\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1\" data-hasqtip=\"4\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Now, here\u2019s the thing, not everyone will agree on all aspects of this. In fact, because Ayurveda also tends to be popular among those of the Buddist or Hindu faith, some might want to automatically write it off altogether. However, don\u2019t throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet.<\/p>\n<p>(And keep in mind that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/how-meditation-benefits-your-body-and-mind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">meditation<\/a>\u00a0is only one\u00a0tool for balancing the mind and body. For some people,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/grounding-a-simple-pleasurable-way-to-reduce-inflammation-and-chronic-disease\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spending time outside in nature does the same thing<\/a>, and for others, meditation on their religion works as well. The idea here is slowing down and breathing deeply. But please, read on.)<\/p>\n<p>While Ayurveda teaches that for each element there is a balanced and imbalanced expression (and when there is an imbalance, the body is less able to be healthy and happy) if you\u2019ve spent any time here at HNN, you\u2019ll remember that we share a similar belief. A simple way to make sure that you are getting a balanced diet is to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/chopra.com\/articles\/the-6-tastes-of-ayurveda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">include the six Ayurvedic tastes in each meal.<\/a>\u00a0<span id=\"easy-footnote-1\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1\" data-hasqtip=\"5\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/get-proper-sleep-nightly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Get abundant restful sleep<\/a>\u2013 Ayurveda teaches that sleep is the \u201cnursemaid to humanity.\u201d During sleep, our body repairs and rejuvenates itself so when you do not get restful sleep it can disrupt the body\u2019s innate balance, weaken our immune system,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/20-large-scale-studies-concur-reduce-this-and-you-will-dramatically-cut-your-life-short\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">and speed up the aging process.<\/a>\u00a0<span id=\"easy-footnote-1\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1\" data-hasqtip=\"6\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/new-study-says-women-live-longer-live-surrounded-nature\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live in tune with nature<\/a>\u2013 As nature made you, what you need and what you want shouldn\u2019t be in conflict. When you\u2019re in balance, you naturally desire only that which nurtures your health and life. You flow in harmony with your body\u2019s natural rhythms, getting restful sleep, feeding your senses with experiences, tastes, touch, aromas, sounds, and sights that uplift and nourish you. When you slip out of tune with nature, your desires become non-nurturing and you may crave junk food, neglect to sleep and exercise, and indulge in compulsive behaviors. Over time, a little imbalance can become a disorder and then a disease, bringing on more stress and neglect.<span id=\"easy-footnote-1\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1\" data-hasqtip=\"7\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Exercise: Tune in to your body-\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/can-7-minutes-of-exercise-really-help-keep-you-fit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Exercise is good but listen to your body and don\u2019t overdo it<\/a>\u00a0or force something that works for someone else, onto yourself. Exercise isn\u2019t one size fits all.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen your digestive power- Ayurveda teaches that bad digestion leads to \u201cobstructions in the flow of energy, information, and nourishment, and is the basis of all disease.\u201d<span id=\"easy-footnote-1\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1\" data-hasqtip=\"8\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Take it easy- The Ayurvedic approach is about aligning with the infinite organizing power of nature rather than struggling or trying to force things to go your way.\u00a0 This principle is embodied by the\u00a0Law of Least Effort. When you observe nature, you will notice that grass doesn\u2019t try to grow; it just grows. Birds don\u2019t try to fly; they just fly. Flowers don\u2019t try to blossom; they just blossom. Nature functions with effortless ease, frictionlessly and spontaneously. It is intuitive, holistic, non-linear, and nourishing. You will expend least effort when your actions are motivated by love, because nature is held together by the energy of love. When you chase after status, money, power, or accolades, you waste energy, but when your actions are motivated by love, your energy expands and accumulates.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/its-official-happiness-really-can-improve-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">So take it easy and be guided by love.<\/a><span id=\"easy-footnote-1\" class=\"easy-footnote-margin-adjust\"><\/span><span class=\"easy-footnote\"><a style=\"box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; color: #298c7e; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthnutnews.com\/ayurveda-one-of-the-worlds-most-sophisticated-and-powerful-mind-body-health-systems\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1\" data-hasqtip=\"9\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So, now that you know a little more, what do you think?
