{"id":3644,"date":"2017-08-01T09:00:31","date_gmt":"2017-08-01T16:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.youwealthrevolution.com\/blog\/?p=3644"},"modified":"2017-12-04T15:58:20","modified_gmt":"2017-12-04T23:58:20","slug":"negative-words-make-rice-moldy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.youwealthrevolution.com\/blog\/negative-words-make-rice-moldy\/","title":{"rendered":"Teacher Shows Students How Negative Words Can Make Rice Moldy"},"content":{"rendered":"<article class=\"post tag-science\">\n<section class=\"post-content \">\n<div id=\"post-area\" class=\" fade-1\">\n<div id=\"content-area\" class=\"text \">\n<p>The impact of positive and negative emotions might be more impactful\u00a0than you think\u2014and more persuasive.<\/p>\n<p>A teacher in Curitiba, a\u00a0southern region in\u00a0Brazil, decided to illustrate the power of words to her students by using two cups of sealed rice.<\/p>\n<p>Physical education teacher Ana Paula Frezatto Martins arranged the class in a circle around the two cups of grains.\u00a0Then, she asked the students to say bad things to one of the cups \u2014 things\u00a0people might hear in everyday life, like \u201cyou are useless\u201d, \u201cyou are stupid\u201d, and \u201cyou can\u2019t accomplish anything\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>To the second glass, the teacher asked the kids to say things they would like to hear from everyone.\u00a0The kids used such expressions as\u00a0\u201cyou are special\u201d, \u201cyou can accomplish anything\u201d, and \u201cyou are smart\u201d.\u00a0Days later, the rice in the \u201clove cup\u201d fermented naturally while the rice in the \u201chate cup\u201d became dark and moldy.<\/p>\n<p>Martins says she has always tried to show her students the importance of highlighting positivity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my classes I explain the importance of saying nice things to each other, but kids need more tangible physical expressions of our examples,\u201d says Martins, according to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/g1.globo.com\/pr\/parana\/noticia\/palavras-de-amor-e-odio-fazem-parte-de-experiencia-e-mudam-forma-de-arroz-em-escola-do-parana.ghtml?utm_source=facebook&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=g1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Globo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you say something nice, like \u2018you can do it\u2019, you feel that in your heart,\u201d says 10-year-old student Anita Santini Trevisan.\u00a0The youngster\u00a0says that because of\u00a0the experiment, she has tried\u00a0to be more positive every day.<\/p>\n<p>Another student, Henrique Kloster, had a similar conclusion: \u201cThe damage of negativity is bigger than we can imagine \u2026 there are two ways to say things, the right way is to praise the good side of others with the eyes of the heart, not the eyes we see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The rice experiment mirrors a famous one conducted by Masaro Emoto who tested distilled water and natural water when it was frozen into crystals to see what would happen when they were exposed to different human emotional energy, in the form of words, pictures, thoughts and music \u2014 for instance, heavy metal music versus classical.\u00a0He then observed the crystals under a microscope.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodnewsnetwork.org\/teacher-shows-students-how-negative-words-makes-rice-moldy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Source:\u00a0goodnewsnetwork.org<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The impact of positive and negative emotions might be more impactful\u00a0than you think\u2014and more persuasive.
