Captain\u00a0Calvin \u201cCal\u201d Flanigan\u00a0(pictured) retired from\u00a0Delta Airlines\u00a0after devoting 45 years of service to the airline. Thirty-seven of those years were served as a pilot for the company. According to KTFW-TV Fox 4 News, Calvin never missed a day of work!<\/p>\n

He began his career with Delta as an airline mechanic in 1968 but his dream had always been to fly a plane. Eight years into his career with Delta, Flanigan achieved his dream. He flew more than 12.5 million miles and landed in nearly 100 countries during his time at Delta. He also had the most seniority out of all of his fellow pilots.\u00a0Steve Dickson of Delta Airlines told Fox 4 \u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s something that will ever be replicated, certainly in my lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n

Calvin\u00a0and his wife plan on traveling the world during his retirement, but this time he will be on the opposite side of the cockpit.<\/p>\n
