{"id":1506,"date":"2016-07-27T14:00:16","date_gmt":"2016-07-27T21:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.youwealthrevolution.com\/blog\/?p=1506"},"modified":"2018-06-26T08:23:18","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T15:23:18","slug":"you-are-an-ocean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.youwealthrevolution.com\/blog\/you-are-an-ocean\/","title":{"rendered":"YOU ARE AN OCEAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong> <span class=\"fn\">Ben Schwalb of My Empowered World writes:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are an ocean.\u00a0 A beautiful, vast, peaceful entity.\u00a0 You are, and have always been, perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Worldly events cause you to put up waves: waves of elation, waves of sorrow, waves of courage, waves of fear, waves of youth, waves of maturity, waves of beauty, waves of ugliness, waves of strength, waves of weakness, waves of belief, waves of doubt, waves of reputation, waves of obscurity, waves of accomplishment, waves of failure.\u00a0 All these waves are temporary configurations of ocean.\u00a0 But they are not the ocean.\u00a0 They will disappear, because they are only movements, not stable forms.\u00a0 Only the ocean persists.<\/p>\n<p>If you define yourself by your waves then this false self will end when the waves end, so your idea of who you are will always be in jeopardy, always doomed, and this will cause you to live in fear of annihilation.\u00a0 You might put great effort into maintaining and defending your waves \u2013 sometimes competing, sometimes bragging, sometimes complaining, sometimes arguing, sometimes shouting \u2013 but they will disappear on their own anyway, because they are nothing but waves, and you will see that all your efforts were futile because you defended nothing.<\/p>\n<p>You, or other people, might not like some of the waves you create.\u00a0 This does not mean that you are bad or worthless, for those waves are not you.<\/p>\n<p>To insist that you are your waves is to deny your ocean-ness.<\/p>\n<p>Look underneath your waves.\u00a0 That is you.\u00a0 Not the things you\u2019ve accomplished or acquired.\u00a0 Not your job.\u00a0 Not your possessions.\u00a0 Not your race.\u00a0 Not your nationality.\u00a0 Not what other people say you are.\u00a0 You are the infinite source of being that cannot be defined by those things.\u00a0 No matter how many waves you produce and no matter what form they take, you remain the same expansive essence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Author<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ben first became aware of something beyond the corporeal world in his mid-20s.
